Aztec has its own cryptocurrency called $AZTEC, which serves several purposes in the network. Users pay fees for transactions and smart contract execution with this token. It also supports staking and governance. People who run sequencers or provers can earn AZTEC tokens as rewards, and token holders can vote on important network changes.
